China: Martin Yan is a familiar name, not only in the Bay Area, where his restaurants include Yan Can Asian Bistro in Santa Clara and M.Y. It is impossible to read the menu at without salivating. This casual American comfort food restaurant is all about umami bombs, Keane says, with an emphasis on chicken wings, fries, pickles and pies. With a James Beard Award, a “Top Chef Masters” crown and five years’ worth of double Michelin stars, Keane is turning his attention to a variety of new ventures.
